Jaycee Lee Dugard’s stepfather was at the center of the investigation for several years. Although no evidence existed that indicated that he was at the center of her abduction, he was still accused and scrutinized by many. We know now that there was no evidence that showed his involvement because he wasn’t involved in her abduction.

Jaycee Lee Dugard’s story goes on in a sound proof shack behind Phillip and Nancy Garrido’s home. Jaycee Lee Dugard was kept hostage and repeatedly sexually abused by Phillip Garrido while confined to that shack. During her captivity Phillip Garrido served a short prison sentence, and Jaycee Lee Dugard’s story went on as Nancy Garrido kept her held hostage. Shortly after his return home, Jaycee Lee Dugard’s story gets even more tragic as she gives birth to her first daughter. A few years later, Jaycee Lee Dugard gave birth to a second daughter.

The Jaycee Lee Dugard story is probably more traumatic than we will ever know. Phillip Garrido was known in the community as “creepy Phil”. Furthermore, Phillip Garrido served an “11-year prison stretch for kidnapping and raping a woman in a storage unit he had converted into a “sex palace”, with sex aids, hardcore pornographic magazines and stage lights.” Considering that the Jaycee Lee Dugard story took place in a sound proof shack in his back yard, we can only imagine what type of living conditions that poor woman encountered.
