- Take Vitamin C: Women who take 300-400g of vitamin C a day get protection from heart disease which will make her live one year longer.
- Give blood: Giving blood reduces levels of iron in the blood. Iron is an oxidant so it increases risk of free radicals in the body. However, studies have shown that by giving blood once a year, you cut your risk of a heart attack and extend your lifespan.
You’ll live 3 years longer if you:
- Wash your hands: Women live an average of four years longer than men, with our stronger immune systems being the likely reason.
- Drink tea: Every cup of tea is packed with antioxidants, meaning a longer life. People who had had heart attacks found their risks of having another one in the next three years was cut by 44 percent if they drank cups a day.

- Take up dancing: Dancers tend to live 10 years longer than other people. A mix of fitness boosting and meeting people is the main cause-dancing actually builds blood vessels in the brain, which is also linked to longevity.

- Control your cholesterol: Cutting fat down to under 40 percent of your daily calories helps reduce cholesterol.
- Eat fewer calories: A diet of 900 to 1100 calories a day can extend life by up to 15 years!
- Build muscle: Muscle aids the metabolism of blood sugar which lowers risks of many illnesses.
